Made by a small one-man workshop in the colourful Mexican town of Metepec, these wonderful ceramics depict a Garden of Eden scene. The ceramic shows Adam and Eve as well as the deceptive snake with an apple in its mouth. The ceramic has a fixture on the top for use as a candle holder but it works equally well without candle as an ornament. The Eden scene is framed beautifully by a ring of ceramic leaves affixed on sturdy wire, giving the piece an impressive three-dimensional presence. A wonderful item for religious and secular appreciation that is indicative of the Mexican approach to colourful folk art.
