    • These detailed plaques depict Coyolxauhqui, a moon goddess. In this plaque she is shown lying on her side dismembered. She was killed in such a way because she attempted to launch an attack on her own mother with her 400 brothers the "Centzon Huitznahuas". This attacked was thwarted by her other brother " Huitzilopochtli" who defended his mother against Coyolxauhqui and her brothers, dismembering them in the process.
