Handmade in Peru, these wonderful little scenes are known as retablos. They are a popular form of folk art in Central and South America and they often depict religious themes and scenes of traditional life. This version shows a pair of brides represented as skeletons or calaveras. This style is common in Latin America particularly as part of Day of The Dead festivities.
