About this product

Hand-carved from Tweneboa wood — an African cedar native to Ghana — this large djembe delivers deep bass tones and sharp, bright slaps across a wide dynamic range. A versatile instrument that holds its own in many musical contexts, from drum circles to percussion sections.

The shell features authentic hand-carved decorative patterns and is strung with a thick, unbleached goat skin head and robust rope tuning. Each drum is made individually by Ghanaian drummers with years of specialist experience.

The wood is purchased through the Forestry Commission of Ghana, ensuring responsible sourcing from fast-growing managed stock.
