This wonderful carving has been carefully and expertly crafted by hand on the island of Bali. It has been made from a solid piece of suar wood and measures 50cm in length and 25cm in height. Tortoises are a sacred animal in both Balinese mythology and Hinduism, and represent strength and stability.
