About this product
Colourful African style baskets handwoven from sisal using traditional methods. Each basket has been finished with a sturdy leatherbound handle making it a great shopping bag. They also make fantastic storage baskets for around the home, ideal for tidying up toys and knick knacks, or in the kitchen for fresh fruit and vegetables. Baskets have been used for centuries as useful storage and carrying tasks, and they have become hugely popular in our current eco-conscious times.

Many of our products are made by small producers who lack the resources to buy materials in bulk or they use recycled items, therefore products are often made from what is available.
For example, if you’re buying a crochet purse, the cotton is bought at the local market, so the makers are limited to the colours available on the day. Or if you’re buying an item made in patchwork or from recycled Sari, makers are limited to the colours and patterns that they’re given.
It all adds to the uniqueness of your lovely Siesta product!
