Special Standing Prayer Wheel No. 410
About this product
This freestanding prayer wheel has been lovingly made from metal and wood, with a highly decorated drum that spins smoothly on its stand. Turn the wheel by hand to send your prayers into the universe; the smooth rotation and richly coloured details make it both functional and eye catching.
Prayer wheels are used throughout Himalayan Buddhist communities as a simple way to recite mantras. Each wheel holds a scroll printed with sacred scriptures; turning the drum is said to have the same merit as vocal recitation. Copper wheels with stone inlays are particularly prized for their durability and the natural beauty of the metals and stones.
Our prayer wheels are handmade in small, family workshops in Nepal using traditional techniques. We work on a Fair Trade basis, ensuring artisans are paid fairly for their skills and that sustainable materials are used. The result is an ethically sourced spiritual tool that brings a piece of Tibetan culture into your home.
