The familiar goblet shape and rope-tuned hide head follow the same principles as a full-sized djembe, giving an authentic feel and a warm, lively tone despite the smaller scale.

Djembes originate in West Africa, where they have been played for centuries to accompany dance, ceremony and community celebration.
