About this product

This professional Ghanaian djembe is hand-carved from Tweneboa wood — an African cedar — and built for players who want more from their instrument. Double-string rope tuning gives greater tension control and a wider dynamic range than standard single-string drums, allowing the player to dial in precise tone across bass, tone and slap.

The shell features finer hand-carved decorative patterns in the traditional Ghanaian style, and is strung with a thick, unbleached goat skin head. The natural wood finish lets the quality of the carving speak for itself. Played with the bare hands, this drum rewards technique and produces a full, resonant sound with real projection.

The wood is purchased through the Forestry Commission of Ghana, ensuring responsible sourcing from fast-growing managed stock. Each drum is made individually by skilled Ghanaian drummers and supports traditional craftsmanship, keeping it alive for future generations.
