About this product

Striking and full of meaning, these African Mask Batik Bone Earrings are inspired by traditional East African mask motifs. The bold black-and-white design is hand-batiked onto upcycled cow bone, creating a powerful blend of symbolism, sustainability, and style.

Handcrafted in Kenya, the mask design represents protection, identity, and ancestral wisdom, making these earrings much more than just an accessory.

Ethically sourced and rich with culture, these earrings are perfect for those who want to wear their values — and start a conversation with their jewellery.

Meet the maker

Omondi Jewellery is a small workshop based in Kibera, Nairobi – one of Africa's largest informal settlements - and is owned and run by Ishmael Omondi. He lived on the streets before being trained in the art of bone jewellery making through a project run by Zuri Design. Using recycled brass and bone, he creates a beautiful and distinctive range of jewellery, with his long term goal being to expand his team and provide fair employment opportunities to others from Kibera.
