Guadalupe

Meet the maker: Guadalupe

Based in Taxco, Mexico

In the idyllic town of Taxco, once famed for its silver mines, husband-and-wife team Gerardo and Elía run Exportaciones Guadalupe with their family. From their small shop they sell beautiful alpaca silver earrings featuring sustainably farmed abalone shell. On our visit, we squeezed into one of Taxco’s iconic little Volkswagen Beetles and headed into the hills to watch the shells being transformed into these beautiful earrings.

Fair Trade & Provenance

We visit and work directly with makers and suppliers, paying fairly and building long-term relationships. This is all part of our commitment to Fair Trade and how we’ve been doing business for over 40 years.
