About this product

These striking dragonfly style earrings have been intricately crafted using a traditional metal alloy know as Alpaca steel. To finish the design, abalone shell is used to create a wonderful sparkle or twinkle effect. The word 'Libélula' means 'dragonfly' in Spanish. Meet the maker

In the idyllic town of Taxco, once famed for its silver mines, husband-and-wife team Gerardo and Elía run Exportaciones Guadalupe with their family. From their small shop they sell beautiful alpaca silver earrings featuring sustainably farmed abalone shell. On our visit, we squeezed into one of Taxco’s iconic little Volkswagen Beetles and headed into the hills to watch the shells being transformed into these beautiful earrings.
