About this product
Giant Arbol de Vida Tree of Life No. 50

This stunning hand crafted ceramic tree has been made by highly skilled artisans and has an exquisite level of detail. Each flower has been hand painted and attached to the main design by wire to create a vibrant tree of life display. It stands at 53cm high and would make a beautiful feature piece.

Crafted in traditional barro (clay) and finished in vivid colours, it brings an earthy yet vibrant energy into the room. Perfect for lovers of Fair Trade art, collectors of Mexican ceramics, or anyone seeking a striking boho statement piece.

The Tree of Life is one of Mexico’s most famous artistic traditions, symbolising creation, growth, and interconnectedness. Originally inspired by biblical themes, over time artisans have expanded the designs to include animals and flowers, combining them with local folklore. Each branch, leaf, and figure is carefully moulded by hand before being painted with rich, natural pigments, resulting in a one-of-a-kind sculpture where no two are ever identical. A piece of this size embodies not only cultural heritage but also immense hours of craftsmanship.

This particular Árbol de la Vida was handmade in central Mexico by a skilled family workshop who have been keeping the craft alive for generations. Every purchase directly supports these artisans and helps preserve one of the country’s most iconic traditions.

Meet the Maker: Artesanías Díaz

Based in Texcoco, Mexico

Artesanías Díaz is a family-run workshop led by Arturo, where they create stunning Calavera Catrinas alongside both traditional and more contemporary ceramic pieces. Visiting them at their home was a real privilege – we shared food, a little tequila, and came away with the beginnings of a great collection of crucifixes, incense holders and Aztec masks and plaques.
