Dragons are a strong symbol of courage and protection, and these mobiles have been painted in rich colours with gold detailing. They are wonderfully traditional pieces of Balinese culture have spiritual significance. These Flying Winged Spirit Guardians (also sometimes called "Cradle Guardians") are typically used in temples or homes and hung in high spots to ward off evil spirits, and are sometimes aimed looking down towards a door or window. The wings are removable for easy shipping. They have a strong twine with hook for easy hanging, and the wings are fully detachable, they simply click into a groove either side of the body.
This mobile has been handmade by artisans in Bali, Indonesia. Produced under Fair Trade principles, each one supports the skilled makers behind the work.
