About this product

These beautiful ceramics are made in the traditional 'barro' style. Each sun and moon plaque is fired in a small kiln before then being carefully hand painted in marvellous warm colours. The plaques come with two small holes to thread string or rope for hanging on the wall. All our barro ceramics are made by a small family-run pottery workshop in Texcoco.

Meet the maker : Armando

Based in Texcoco, Mexico

Armando produces traditional 'barro' style pottery from his small workshop in Texcoco. We first encountered Armando and the Balderas market in Mexico City as he sold his wares to the stall holders. We've since visited his home, shared some sudadero tacos and developed a whole range of beautifully rustic ceramic pieces together.
