About this product

The agogo bell is one of the oldest and most recognisable instruments in West African music — two iron cone bells of different sizes mounted on a wooden handle, struck with a stick to produce two distinct pitches. This medium size sits comfortably in the hand and produces a clear, penetrating tone that cuts through ensemble playing. Used in traditional Ghanaian and Yoruba music, and widely adopted in Afrobeat, samba and percussion ensembles worldwide.

This agogo bell has been produced in Ghana under Fair Trade principles. By purchasing ths instrument you are supporting the skilled makers behind the work and keeping musical and craft traditions alive.
