Medium Ghanaian Djembe Drum (9" Head)
About this product
Hand-carved from the Tweneboa tree — an African cedar native to Ghana — these djembes produce the deep, resonant bass tones and bright, whip-crack slaps that the djembe is celebrated for. Despite the density of the wood, Tweneboa is surprisingly lightweight, making it a practical choice for players who travel to sessions.
The shell features hand-carved decorative patterns, and the drum is strung with a thick, unbleached goat skin head and tough rope tuning. Each drum is made individually by Ghanaian drummers with years of specialist knowledge — no two are exactly alike.
The wood is purchased through the Forestry Commission of Ghana, ensuring responsible sourcing from fast-growing managed stock.
