A compact 25cm hand-carved djembe — an ideal starter drum for children, beginners or anyone wanting a lightweight hand drum for home rhythm sessions and group play. The familiar goblet shape and rope-tuned hide head follow the same principles as a full-sized djembe, giving an authentic feel and a warm, lively tone despite the smaller scale.
Djembes originate in West Africa, where they have been played for centuries to accompany dance, ceremony and community celebration. Each drum is hand-carved by skilled artisans in Indonesia using traditional techniques, and sourced on a Fair Trade basis supporting fair wages and sustainable craft livelihoods.
