About this product

Light up your desk with this fire salamander pencil—it's absolutely salamazing! This vibrant amphibian brings a spark of colour and character to your writing, sketching, or doodling. Perfect for reptile lovers, nature fans, and anyone who enjoys bold stationery with a fiery personality.

Lovingly handmade by a group of skilled women artisans in Chiang Mai, Thailand, these playful pencils use a unique technique that blends sawdust from local wood carvers with PVA glue, transforming byproducts into beautifully crafted designs and helping to reduce waste. Each pencil is made from coppiced wood sourced from a fast-growing shrub, making it an eco-friendly choice too.

Meet the maker

Julie is the talented creator of the sawdust products we stock. She works with a small team in Hangdong, Chiang Mai, Thailand. The amazing technique that Julie and her team have created involves using a clever mix of sawdust and PVA glue. This mixture forms a malleable paste which can then be moulded into any shape or form.
