About this product

Simple but functional mango wood hand drum made in India. These are often used by street vendors to attract the attention of potential customers. The drum is held in its middle and shaken rhythmically, allowing the arms to strike the skin. Damru (sometimes spelt Damaru) also have a religious connection in Hinduism and Shiva is often seen holding one when depicted in the Nataraja or dancing form.
