Hand Beaten Singing Bowl Approx 900g
About this product
Our traditional hand beaten singing bowls are produced from a mix of metals and come complete with a turned wood Puja stick. Please note diameter, weight and thickness of the bowls will vary as this is a handmade product. Hand beaten bowls have a more complex and rich range of sounds than machine made bowls, but there is more of a knack to playing them! As all our hand beaten singing bowls are all unique, they are separated into product codes by weight in 100g increments. The code for each bowl begins HB (for Hand Beaten) followed by the weight. For example a 1. 3kg bowl would be HB1300. More about Singing bowls in our blog HOW TO PLAY: Rest the singing bowl in the palm of the hand; hold smaller bowls on the fingertips. Hold the striker in the middle with all fingertips pointing downwards. Gently tap the striker against the side of the bowl to 'warm it up'. With an even pressure, rub the striker clockwise around the outside rim of the bowl. Use a full arm movement just like stirring a big pan of soup. Try to keep the striker straight and remember to apply pressure. Let the sound build up slowly as the singing bowl picks up the vibration. Min weight: 890g Max weight: 989g

Hand Beaten Singing Bowl FAQs
How do I play a Singing Bowl?
Rest the bowl in the palm of your hand or on a cushion (smaller bowls can be balanced on the fingertips). Hold the wooden striker gently in the middle with fingertips pointing downwards. Lightly tap the rim to activate the vibration.
Apply steady, even pressure and move the striker clockwise around the outer rim, using a full arm movement — similar to stirring a large pot. Keep the striker upright and allow the vibration to build gradually as the sound develops.
What is a Tibetan singing bowl used for?
Tibetan singing bowls are used for meditation, sound healing, chakra balancing, yoga practice and relaxation therapy. Their sustained vibration helps calm the nervous system and support mindfulness.
Is this a handmade singing bowl?
Yes, each bowl is individually hand beaten in Nepal using traditional metalworking techniques.
Can I request a specific note or frequency?
Due to their handmade nature, tones vary slightly. Please contact us if you are looking for a particular note or chakra frequency and we will advise where possible.
