Malaysian Style Drum Set of Three

This set of three rebana drums — the traditional frame drum of the Malay world — comes in graduating sizes, each with a deep carved hardwood body, natural goatskin drumhead and vertical rope lacing that both anchors the head and gives each drum its distinctive banded silhouette.

The rebana has been central to music, ceremony and community life across Southeast Asia for centuries — used in celebration, religious gatherings and traditional performance. Each drum is built using methods passed down through generations: the body hollowed and shaped from dense local timber, the goatskin head treated for tensile strength and resonance, and the lacing tensioned by hand to tune the drum's tone. No two are identical.

These drums have been handmade by artisans in Indonesia and produced under Fair Trade principles. Each set supports the highly skilled makers behind the work, and helps to keep musical and wood craft traditions alive for the next generation.
