This circular copper wall hanging places a serene seated Buddha at its centre, surrounded by concentric rings of auspicious Buddhist symbols and sacred icons — the Eight Auspicious Signs and other protective emblems that carry deep significance in Tibetan and Nepalese Buddhist tradition. Together they form a complete devotional composition, as suited to meditation practice as it is to display.

The piece has been created using repousse and chasing techniques — two complementary methods of working copper by hand. Repousse involves hammering the metal from the back to raise areas of the design into relief, while chasing works from the front to refine and add inverted detail. Together they produce the extraordinary depth and precision of line seen across this piece.
