About this product

This ceramic pufferfish has a face that has seen enough! Hand-textured with individual spines and finished in a deep teal glaze with golden eyes, it occupies a shelf with the quiet authority of something that knows exactly what it is. For fans of ocean life, or simply for someone that likes the more unusual of ceramics.

Crafted from ceramic using traditional pottery techniques, each piece is individually shaped and glazed by hand. The distinctive glaze highlights the texture and detail of the form, creating a striking contrast against the areas of raw clay that are central to the maker's signature style.

This pufferfish has been handmade by Neung and his small team in their studio in Thailand. Neung designs each piece himself, and his work celebrates clay in its natural form — his garden studio is filled with his creations, where tentacles rise from water and foliage, gorilla heads emerge from the soil, and air plant hangers hang from every branch. Your purchase supports Fair Trade practices and fair wages for this talented maker and his team.
