About this product
This handmade zip purse is perfect for storing coins and cards, and with a handy hanging lop it can easily be attached to a keyring for easy access. The secure zip keeps everything safe in your bag or pocket, while the lightweight rayon fabric adds a splash of colour to your everyday carry.
The beautiful fabric is created from offcuts of Balinese batik, including some of our own exclusive designs. Batik is an ancient Indonesian art form where wax is applied to fabric before dyeing to create detailed patterns and rich colours, and by using fabric offcuts, these purses transform leftover materials into something beautiful while reducing waste.
These zip purses have been handmade by artisans in Bali, Indonesia, and your purchase supports Fair Trade practices and fair wages for these talented makers.
Why might products vary?
Many of our products are made by small producers who lack the resources to buy materials in bulk or they use recycled items, therefore products are often made from what is available.
For example, if you’re buying a crochet purse, the cotton is bought at the local market, so the makers are limited to the colours available on the day. Or if you’re buying an item made in patchwork or from recycled Sari, makers are limited to the colours and patterns that they’re given.
It all adds to the uniqueness of your lovely Siesta product!
