Simple Drawstring Pouch
About this product
Simple Fair Trade fabric drawstring pouch made from off cuts of materials that would have otherwise been discarded. These pouches are cotton lined and have a clever set of drawstrings sewn in, one set to close and the other set to open. Perfect for keeping all manner of small goods in. These pouches were designed to both utilise fabric left after garment production and to generate household employment for Nepali women. The production of these pouches began over 30 years ago and now 15-20 women are in continuous work within this project.

Why might products vary?
Many of our products are made by small producers who lack the resources to buy materials in bulk or they use recycled items, therefore products are often made from what is available.
For example, if you’re buying a crochet purse, the cotton is bought at the local market, so the makers are limited to the colours available on the day. Or if you’re buying an item made in patchwork or from recycled Sari, makers are limited to the colours and patterns that they’re given.
It all adds to the uniqueness of your lovely Siesta product!
