Tibetan Style Painted Thangka Framed
About This Product
Handmade from wood and painted in bold hues, this frame is designed to hold a sacred thangka painting. The painted border features floral and symbolic motifs and draws the eye towards the artwork at its centre. It is a perfect way to display your favourite thangka or artwork while adding colour to your wall.
Thangka paintings are a traditional form of Buddhist art depicting deities, mandalas and scenes from the lives of enlightened teachers. A decorated wooden frame complements the intricate detail of the painting and reflects the colourful style of Himalayan art. Such frames may also be used for photographs or small prints.
These frames are crafted in Nepal by skilled painters and carpenters. Working with Fair Trade cooperatives, they use sustainably sourced timber and non toxic paints. By choosing this piece you support the continuation of traditional art forms and help artisans earn a fair living.
